Some grounds disappeared. **Ayresome Park never really did.** Home to Middlesbrough from **1903 to 1995**, Ayresome Park stood at the heart of Teesside football for more than 90 years. The Holgate End. The floodlights. Packed terraces. Cold nights. Promotion battles. Generations of Boro supporters making the same walk towards one of English football’s great lost grounds. The **Ayresome Park collection by Stylo Matchmakers** celebrates the grounds that shaped football before the modern stadium era. Grounds built into communities. Grounds with rough edges. Grounds that belonged to the people. **FOOTBALL LIVED HERE.** ### The T-Shirt A classic unisex cotton tee with a structured fit and substantial feel. It witnessed more than nine decades of Boro history and became one of the most distinctive football grounds in the North East. It also had a place on the world stage. During the **1966 World Cup**, Ayresome Park hosted three matches, including North Korea’s famous 1–0 victory over Italy. The ground survived near disaster too. In 1986 Middlesbrough came close to extinction and were temporarily locked out of Ayresome Park before the club was rescued. Less than a decade later, Boro’s final competitive game there ended with victory over Luton Town and promotion back to the top flight. The stadium was demolished in 1997. Housing now occupies the site, but reminders of the old ground remain, including commemorations of the former pitch and the original gates preserved at the Riverside Stadium. The stands disappeared. The identity did not. **Ayresome Park. 1903–1995.** **Football Lived Here.** ### Please Note Due to the natural properties of the fabric, the White colour option may appear slightly off-white rather than brilliant white. Natural coloured garments may also contain darker speckles within the fabric. These are an expected characteristic of the material rather than a printing defect. **STYLO MATCHMAKERS** *Football history you can wear.*
